The People
I’m a wife, a real estate agent, the mother of three badasses, a former volunteer manager, and—once upon a time—an “ex-waitress in the skies.”
I’m endlessly curious about people and perpetually thirsty for travel. Both have shaped the way I move through the world: looking closely, asking questions, and staying open to what another person or place might teach me.
The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. I read it after the birth of my first child, and it changed the way I thought about womanhood—the rituals we create, the ways we care for one another, and the importance of tribe.
I’m not much of a movie person. When I do watch something, I want laughter and entertainment. I stay away from anything scary; life is scary enough.
Ireland is a favorite. My husband and I traveled there together, and it is a place I would happily return to.
St. Petersburg was once on the calendar before the trip was canceled, so it remains on the list. Next, though, I’m drawn toward the Balkans.
Learn something every day. Real estate and my work in a community garden keep teaching me that there is always more to understand. Don’t stay stagnant. Keep moving, keep trying, and stay just uncomfortable enough to grow.
Golf—for the outdoors, the challenge, and the social life around it.
I’m also saving for a camper. The dream is to spend two years traveling through the national parks of the American West.
The Costco three-pack of Kim Crawford is in regular rotation. I also love Vinho Verde, a dry rosé, and Albariño—a discovery I brought home from the Camino.
